Brighton vs Everton

Writer: Bobby VincentBobby Vincent

Brighton and Hove Albion host Everton on Saturday afternoon, as they look to build on a positive result against Arsenal on Boxing Day.

The Seagulls came from a goal down to grab a point against Arsenal, thanks to Jurgen Locadia's strike for the hosts.

Whereas Everton won comprehensively in Burnley by five goals to one, as they bounced back from their humiliation to Spurs.

Team News

Brighton have no fresh injury concerns for Saturday's match - but goalkeeper Mat Ryan is unavailable for the Seagulls, due to international duties.

Lewis Dunk is set to return to the side from suspension and is expected to partner up with Shane Duffy once again.

Everton forward Richarlison is set to return to the starting side, after he came off the bench to score at Turf Moor.

Ademola Lookman could return for the Toffees after missing the last couple of games with an ankle injury.

The Managers

Brighton and Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton spoke to the press about any possible signings in the January transfer window.

"I don't see us being too busy next month, in terms of incomings," the Seagulls boss said.

"But we could see a few of our younger players heading out on loan."

Everton boss Marco Silva was very complimentary on the form of his forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin recently.

"I am happy with him, but I want more because he has the quality to give more to us as a team and to improve more and more," Silva claimed.

"He has some specific skills I like in a striker and he knows what I expect from him and the work we are doing with him."

Match Stats

- Brighton have only two wins in their 14 meetings with the Toffees; with their last one dating all the way back in 1982.

- Brighton have failed to keep a clean sheet for a league-high nine matches, since a run of three consecutive games without conceding in October.

- However, the Seagulls have managed to score at least one goal in their last 12 Premier League games at the Amex Stadium.

- This is Everton's 4,500th top-flight game. They become the first ever team to achieve this landmark.
