Romelu Lukaku scored with his first touch as Manchester United beat Newcastle United 2-0 at St. James' Park.
Lukaku's goal on 64 minutes and Marcus Rashford's second-half strike ensured Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's 100% record as United manager continues; with four wins from four matches.
Alexis Sanchez made his comeback for United, and provided the assist for Rashford - with the Chile winger coming on with just over 25 minutes of the match remaining.
How it Happened
Newcastle had a good opening on 18 minutes when Ayoze Perez picked out Christian Atsu, who looked to be through but his shot was tame.
United then had a good chance when a long ball over the top fell to Marcus Rashford, but Martin Dubravka came out quickly to smother the England forward.
Almost immediately after the Rashford chance, his attacking partner Anthony Martial had a clear opening after some neat work from Juan Mata; but the France forward hooked the ball over the bar.
The deadlock was unable to be broken from either side in the first-half; with United having the better chances, with a strong Dubravka performance keeping the hosts in the match.
United took the lead just over an hour in. Lukaku was brought on for Martial literally seconds before and he was reacted quickly to a Dubravka mistake to make it 1-0.
Lukaku's strike was even quicker than his immediate impact against Bournemouth.
Sanchez's ball through then found Rashford, who poked home to put the game beyond the Magpies.
Paul Pogba had a glorious chance to get on the scoresheet in stoppage-time, with the midfielder rounding an onrushing Dubravka, but unable to apply the finish.
