West Ham 2-2 Brighton

Marko Arnautovic scored twice in two minutes, completing a two-goal comeback for West Ham United to draw 2-2 with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Brighton took a 2-0 lead early in the second-half, thanks to Dale Stephens and Shane Duffy scoring for the visitors.

However, the Hammers offered an instant response when Arnautovic bagged two in as many minutes to level the game for the home side.

Manuel Pellegrini made some substitutions early on in the second-half, and yet again, they appeared to have a big impact on the match.

How it Happened

The first chance of the game fell to West Ham and Felipe Anderson. After a flick on from Arnautovic fell to the Brazilian winger, but his shot was straight at David Button in the Brighton goal.

The Hammers had a penalty appeal turned down soon after, when Arnautovic was bundled down in the box by Lewis Dunk; but the referee was having none of it.

West Ham controlled the possession, but couldn't create too much in the way of clear-cut chances - likewise with Brighton.

Manuel Pellegrini opted with Andy Carroll up top from the start, but the difference in style perhaps wasn't suiting his team, so the Chilean brought Lucas Perez on for the big English striker.

Anderson nearly found the net straight after the restart, after a brilliant solo run; but his left-footed strike was dragged wide of the Brighton goal.

And for all of the possession, West Ham were punished when Brighton broke the deadlock not long after.

Stephens fired into the net from the edge of the box, after Lucasz Fabianski's punch did not reach its intended distance.

Brighton immediately doubled their advantage much to a disgusted and shocked London Stadium.

Duffy was on hand to double the Seagulls' advantage over the Hammers after a Pascal Gross corner found the Irish defender.

The Hammers were soon back in the match, through Arnautovic - with the Austria forward showing great strength before slotting the ball through Button's open legs.

Moments later, Arnautovic had his second and the Irons were level in London. Substitute Michail Antonio made an almost immediate impact, cutting the ball back to Arnautovic who smashed home to level the match!

The game was 0-0 at half-time and in the 68th minute it was 2-2... four goals in 12 minutes - two apiece.

The game did eventually settle down from there and with both teams pushing for the winner, both 'keepers were called into late action. But it finished all-square.
