Newcastle United have agreed terms with Atlanta United over the transfer of Miguel Almiron for a club-record fee.
Sky Sports report that the MLS midfielder is travelling to the UK on Tuesday night for a medical on Tyneside.
Newcastle are set to pay around £20m for the Atlanta star, which would break their previous record of £16.5m - what they paid for Michael Owen in 2005.
Atlanta started off the transfer window asking for £30m for Almiron, but have lowered their price since then, now Almiron needs to agree personal terms.
