Crystal Palace 1-3 Man Utd

Romelu Lukaku inspired Manchester United as their injury-struck side had too much for Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Lukaku scored a double and Ashley Young scored late on to cancel out Joel Ward's reply for Palace.

United were missing eight first-team players in London, but managed to extend their unbeaten run in the league to 14 games under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

The Red Devils have also sealed a club-record eighth consecutive win away from home.

Lukaku struck in both halves for United, with Luke Shaw playing a star role in the first goal, but it was expertly finished by the Belgian on his weaker right foot.

Ward's strike in the second-half gave the Eagles some hope - but all that hope was gone seven minutes from time, when Young scored his second goal of the season.

The win for Solksjaer's men sees them stay in the hunt for the top-four finish, being a point behind Arsenal, who occupy fourth.

However, Palace's six-match unbeaten run has now come to an end, and Roy Hodgson's men remain in 14th, five points clear of the relegation zone.
