Brendan Rodgers not concerned by Harry Maguire interest

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has insisted he is not concerned by Manchester United's interest in his star defender Harry Maguire.

United have been interested in the England centre-back for the past few months but this doesn't concern the Foxes' new manager.

"It doesn't worry me," Rodgers said. "I think all you can worry about is that you make the team the very best they can be."

Maguire signed for Leicester in the summer of 2017 for £17m from Hull City and has become a regular in the side.

His impressive form at the heart of the Foxes defence earned him his first England call-up in 2017.

Maguire played a key part in England's journey to the semi-final of the 2018 World Cup last summer.

Rodgers admitted that United may come in for Maguire, but also said that the club will be prepared for when they do.

"They may well come in," the former Liverpool boss added. "You always have to be prepared for that moment as a club.

"It happens, but at this moment in time, I'm thinking about the team, and making it the best that we can."
