Everton vs Watford: Preview

Everton will be looking to continue to maintain their excellent home form as they host Watford at Goodison Park for the Monday Night Football.

The Toffees will look to bounce back from midweek disappointment, as they were held by Newcastle United on Tuesday night.

Watford performed bravely against Manchester City, but eventually lost out 2-1 at Vicarage Road.

The last time these teams faced each other was back in late February, when Watford captain Troy Deeney scored the only goal of the game.

Team News

Everton have no fresh injury concerns, and midfielder Morgan Scheiderlin is set to return to the squad following a seven-game absence with a leg injury.

Michael Keane is also set to return to the team after being rested against Newcastle, with Theo Walcott and Bernard also in contention to come back in the team.

Watford will be without Etienne Capoue following his suspension for his last-minute red card against Leicester City last weekend.

Will Hughes is a doubt for the Hornets, but Tom Cleverley might be back after 11 months out.

The Managers

Everton boss Marco Silva will be facing his old side on Monday evening, and is "looking forward" to the task.

"It is not the first time in my life (facing an old team) and for sure, it won't be the last," the Everton manager said.

"I look forward to the match, a tough match for sure, and it will be good to see some of the players who worked with me, some good friends as well I have in the club."

Watford manager Javi Gracia has admitted his side need to improve "something" if they are to get more points on the board.

"In my opinion, we are playing well," Gracia claimed. "I like to be demanding of my players because in this way we will improve, we'll have more options to improve our results as well.

"But in this moment, I'm not too worried about if in the last games we weren't able to get some points.

"I think the players have confidence in the way we are playing, the way we are working in all the different games. But they also know we need to improve something to have better results, to finish better."
