The champions face a massive game as they host Everton at Saturday lunchtime at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City lost their first game of the season last weekend, as they were beaten by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
With Liverpool's win at Bournemouth earlier on the same day; the Reds moved to a point clear of City at the summit of the Premier League.
Liverpool's neighbours, Everton, could help out their Merseyside rivals with anything they manage to get at the Etihad.
Team News
Manchester City talisman Sergio Aguero is in contention to face Everton after a four-match absence with a groin problem.
Everton midfielder Idrissa Gana Dueye was taken off against Watford on Monday night because of injury and he is a doubt.
The Managers
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted his team are suffering a bit from fatigue, with the team playing on Wednesday night into the early weekend kick-off.
"Last season one of the secrets was when we dropped points we were able to make another big run, winning games and winning games," Guardiola said.
"It's important but we must focus on what we have to do and try to beat them. We've dropped points (against Everton) here but tomorrow's another game.
"Everton have completely changed their team in terms of players - Bernard, Sigurdsson, Richarlison, Digne, Yerry Mina. I'm really impressed how well they do.
"It will be a tough game after the Champions League. The people yesterday were so tired. We'll see how we react."
Everton boss Marco Silva has revealed what he's been trying to get his side to improve in recent weeks.
"We have to improve on our offensive set-pieces and we are working on that because we have the conditions to score more goals in those moments," Silva said.
"(Goals from a variety of sources) is something we want, and our central defenders are part of this process.
"The main thing for them is to keep our team solid - not just them, everything (defensively) starts up front.
"But they are part of our offensive process, too, and it is something I want more from our central defenders because they have the capacity to score more goals."
