Everton 2-2 Watford: 5 Things We Learned

It was a thrilling night at Goodison Park as Everton scored a last minute equaliser to draw 2-2 at home to Watford.

Another pulsating night of Premier League drama and some more learning points coming out of it.

We've done our best to narrow down the most interesting and crucial ones in this article...

Bend It Like Digne

Lucas Digne scored a 20-yard free-kick in the 96th minute to ensure the points were shared on Monday Night Football.

It was Digne's first goal for Everton since arriving from Barcelona in the summer and it seems he has taken a leaf out of substitute left-back Leighton Baines' book.

Digne actually scored his first competitive goal in over a year, with his last goal coming back in Barcelona's 3-1 win over Olympiakos in the UEFA Champions League.

Relentless Richarlison

The Brazilian international has been perhaps the signing of the season for Everton - and he continued his excellent form against the club they signed him from.

Richarlison now has eight Premier League goals this season - one off his career-high in a league campaign. He scored nine for America Mineiro in the Brazil Serie B in a campaign.

The forward only managed five goals in his single Premier League campaign with Watford last season.

Deadly Doucoure?

Abdoulaye Doucoure scored his second goal in as many games against Everton to give his Watford team the lead for the majority of the second-half.

Doucoure also scored in Watford's 2-1 loss to Manchester City last week - which was his first goal since January.

The midfielder is still three goals off what he was at this time last season for the Hornets.

Precious Points for the Hornets

The point Watford collected on Monday night was their first point they have gotten at Goodison Park since August 2015 - where they also drew 2-2.

In fact, this is the second EVER point Watford have collected against Everton on the road in 27 games.

And they were literally seconds away from their first ever victory at Goodison Park.

Pereyra's Goal Drought

Roberto Pereyra played a big part in Watford's draw on Merseyside; setting up a goal and his shot being hit into his own net by Seamus Coleman.

However, Pereyra is now without a competitive goal in seven hours and a half - after scoring five in his opening 10 Premier League matches.
