Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has launched a message of support to his winger Raheem Sterling following racial abuse allegations.
Sterling has been the centre of attention this week following City's 2-0 loss to Chelsea on Saturday evening; where a Chelsea fan hurled abuse at Sterling from behind the goal and allegations over racial abuse have been made.
Guardiola has described Sterling as "incredible" in his pre-match press conference as City prepare for their final UEFA Champions League group game.
"Considering what happened he's quite good," the City boss said. "He made his statement on Instagram and was quite clear about his thoughts.
"Raheem Sterling is an incredible human being. In the 21st century, it's tough to understand today what happened years ago for black people.
"You have to protect how equal we are together and help us to be better."
City take on Hoffenheim tomorrow night at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League - before they host Everton this weekend.
