Feature: What should Pochettino do?

Since the sacking of Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, Mauricio Pochettino has become the favourite to takeover at Old Trafford and many feel that Pochettino would jump at the chance if the opportunity appeared.

Not many managers in world football could turn down Manchester United as the club are the biggest in world football and some of the players in their arsenal are outstanding. With this being said, Pochettino may struggle to stay loyal as the attraction to Manchester United is tough to resist because of the history and the overall brand of the club.

Daniel Levy over the last four years have failed to give Pochettino players that he has wanted and many suggest that this could pull him towards Manchester, as Ed Woodward will certainly give the Argentine a lot of money to improve the club. Even though becoming the manager of Manchester United is a serious honour, here are reasoning’s on why the former Southampton manager should stay put at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

The Stadium

Spurs have been without a home stadium since the end of the 2015/16 season as their beloved White Hart Lane was to go under construction as a scheduled new stadium was to await for Tottenham.

With the new home of Spurs almost complete, why would Pochettino jump ship now? After patiently waiting over two years for their new home.

The new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium looks absolutely magnificent and this could potentially be the start of something new for Spurs as they hope this can be a fortress and lead them to silverware success.

Poch has spent his time at Spurs building a philosophy and improving the structure of the club to try and be a European powerhouse.

With this challenge in progress, getting into the new stadium will be a huge checkpoint for Mauricio and it could be the final hurdle in the current project.

The Fans

"Mauricio Pochettino is magic you know" - Every side that plays Tottenham Hotspur will certainly know this chant being passionately sung from the Spurs fans.

It’s no secret that the Tottenham Hotspur faithful sincerely adore their manager and this could be a big reasoning behind Pochettino making a decision regarding his future. Pochettino constantly praises his fans at Spurs as he understands it’s become a rarity in football for fans to love their club manager.

Pochettino potentially could remain at spurs because he may want to repay the fans, due to their love and support they have shown throughout the current tenure.

If Poch gets offered the Manchester United job and turns it down, this will boost the love that the Spurs fans have for their manager as it will show Pochettino truly loves Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

The Players

This is arguably the biggest reasoning why Pochettino may find it hard to leave Tottenham Hotspur, the relationship he was with the players is remarkable and the respect there is of a strong bond.

The way in which Pochettino has improved players at Spurs is impeccable and this is a reasoning why Poch is respected as one of the best managers in Europe.

Players such as Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli have all immensely improved under the coaching of Pochettino and these players are now regarded some of the best around.

Coaching and improving young players is regarded as one of the best traits to have as a manager and Mauricio has this in abundance.

His history with educating players at Spurs is partly why he is viewed as one of the best and it’s got to a point where players want to sign for Pochettino, because they know they will certainly improve as a player and as an overall individual.

Because of these facts, chairman Daniel Levy will certainly not want to let go of Pochettino and will do whatever it takes to keep him a the club.

With Levy’s reputation of being extremely hard to do business with, you have to feel his way of dealing with this situation will surely mean Mauricio Pochettino will remain the manager of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
