Wolves 0-2 Liverpool

Mohamed Salah shone as Liverpool move to four points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

Salah's neat first-half finish and then a wonderful assist for Virgil van Dijk's first Premier League goal for Liverpool was the difference at Molineux.

Wolves had some great first-half chances, but the clinical nature of Liverpool means they will be top at Christmas.

How It Happened

Wolves had some early chances on Friday evening, but Adama Traore was wasteful when called upon.

Liverpool made them pay with some clever work from Fabinho on the right-hand side with Salah getting on the end of his pullback.

Wolves continued to create, and in the first-half; they had more than Liverpool, but the Reds defended strongly.

After the break, Liverpool doubled their advantage when a corner resulted in Salah creating a glorious chance for van Dijk, who finished very well.

The Reds were cruising at Molineux, and Wolves had to switch to a more offensive style, and that they did.

But that allowed Jurgen Klopp's side to have so much space on the break, and they looked like scoring every time they moved forward.

Salah had a couple of good chances as he switched to the right-wing when Roberto Firmino was substituted.

Georginio Wijnaldum was a late substitute for the Reds, and he had one of the best chances of the match right at the death. But the Dutch international dragged his shot wide.

It's a huge three points for Liverpool, who have now extended their advantage over City to four points, with the champions playing Crystal Palace tomorrow.
