A late showing from Crystal Palace ensured a 2-0 victory for the Eagles at Molineux, after an uncharacteristic display from Wolves.
Wolves weren't at their best on Wednesday evening, and it was clear to see judging by Nuno Espirito Santo's body language.
Jordan Ayew's goal in the 82nd minute was the turning point on a frustrating evening for the Molineux faithful.
Luka Milivojevic put the icing on the proverbial cake, smashing home a 95th minute penalty for Palace.
How it Happened
The first-half consisted of very little chances for either team; with the best chance of the early stages falling to Crystal Palace.
Milivojevic had a shot from outside of the area tipped over by Rui Patricio in the Wolves goal.
Wolves had a couple of half-chances with Willy Boly and Matt Doherty both heading over from successive corners.
It was a closely-fought contest at Molineux, with both teams going into the break goalless.
Again, the second-half didn't bring many more chances, with the game being so closely contested.
But in the 82nd minute, finally the deadlock was broken. Patrick van Aanholt's cross was well controlled by Ayew, whose touch was superb and likewise his finish.
That proved to be the winner for Crystal Palace, with Roy Hodgson's men picking up three points at Molineux, where not many teams have.
Ryan Bennett brought down Wilfried Zaha and the referee pointed to the spot and Milivojevic made no mistake.
