Leicester vs Southampton

Leicester City manager Claude Puel faces his former team Southampton at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Foxes recorded an impressive victory away at Goodison Park before they were sent back down to earth by lower-league Newport County in the FA Cup, losing 2-1 in Wales.

Southampton have drew their last two games, in the FA Cup against Derby County, right after an impressive point picked up away at Chelsea.

These teams met in August 2018, with Harry Maguire's 90th minute winner sending the travelling Foxes into ecstasy.

Team News

Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes could be involved after the Foxes recalled the youngster from his loan spell at West Bromwich Albion.

Jonny Evans is out, though, with the Northern Ireland defender facing a spell on the sidelines with a broken toe.

Southampton are without three of their strikers; Danny Ings and Michael Obafemi, who both have hamstring injuries. Charlie Austin starts his two-match suspension.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg continues his four-match suspension, with Ryan Bertrand out with a back issue and Maya Yoshida away on international duty with Japan in the Asia Cup.

The Managers

Leicester City boss Claude Puel: "Our (FA Cup) elimination against Newport doesn't change our ambition in the Premier League. We are seventh in this moment, but we know the difficulties we have now to maintain this ranking.

"We have to keep momentum to stay in the top half of the table and we'll see in which position we can finish. We have lots of teams ready to compete with us and with the same objective."

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl: "We are looking to bring someone in this transfer window, but it is not easy because in winter you must find a guy who not only for a short time makes us better, but also for long-term.

"It is better to make it as soon as possible, but it is not so easy in the winter break. We don't want to be hurried. We will take time, think about it and if you are 100% sure this guy makes us better, then take the decision, not earlier."
