Bournemouth vs Liverpool: Preview

The Premier League weekend kicks off on Saturday lunchtime at the Vitality Stadium, as AFC Bournemouth host an in-form Liverpool side.

Bournemouth come into this game high in confidence as well, with the Cherries in seventh place in the Premier League.

Eddie Howe's men beat Huddersfield narrowly on Tuesday night to continue their impressive start to the season.

Liverpool are two points off leaders Manchester City, and have the chance to go top, albeit temporarily, with a victory.

The Reds saw off a tough fight at Turf Moor on Wednesday after going a goal down against Burnley, eventually winning 3-1.

Team News

Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook is out for up to nine weeks after suffering a rupture to his anterior cruciate ligament in the win versus Huddersfield.

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez suffered a lower leg fracture in their 3-1 win against Burnley and will be out for up to six weeks.

Sadio Mane missed the victory at Turf Moor, and the winger will be assessed ahead of Saturday's clash.

The Managers

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe hopes the win against Huddersfield can inspire his team against second-placed Liverpool.

"It's that kind of relentless schedule now where it's game after game," Howe said.

"Let's try and use (the win over Huddersfield) to give us the confidence to perform well against Liverpool."
