Leicester vs Cardiff

Leicester have had an unbelievable week, beating Chelsea and then Manchester City - and they look to wrap it off at home to Cardiff City.

The Foxes beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge 1-0 last Saturday, before coming back from a goal down to beat City 2-1 on Boxing Day.

Whereas Cardiff managed to hold onto a goalless stalemate at Selhurst Park, and will be looking to put an end to their terrible home record.

Team News

Leicester City have no fresh injury concerns as they prepare for the visit of Cardiff on Saturday.

Midfield duo Matty James and Daniel Amartey remain long-term absentees for the Foxes.

Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock received a boost hearing that Neil Etheridge is not part of the Philippines squad for the Asian Cup.

Callum Paterson will face a late fitness test ahead of the trip; but Aron Gunnarsson and Harry Arter are expected to return to the side.

The Managers

Leicester manager Claude Puel is expecting "direct play" from Saturday's opposition.

"We play against Cardiff in the next game, it will be a different game," Puel admitted.

"They will play with a lot of direct play, second balls, and aerial battles, and it will be very tough.

"Sometimes we need to defend a lot, like the two last games, and other times, we need to have the ball, to find the space, and to move the opponent. It is always so difficult, it will be another game, very tough."

Cardiff boss Neil Warnock reminisced on the last meeting between the two teams, with it being the first game since the tragic death of Leicester's owner.

"I don't think we could've won the game here against Leicester under the circumstances," Warnock admitted.

"It was probably the worst game I've ever felt as a manager. We don't want any more results like the Man United result. Goal difference could be really important."

Match Stats

- Leicester were victorious in this fixture last season, and could achieve consecutive wins over Cardiff for the first time since 2010.

- However, the Foxes have won four consecutive top-flight matches against Cardiff - with an 11-0 aggregate scoreline.

- Leicester have won seven and lost just one of their last 10 league games against newly-promoted sides.

- Cardiff are now the only team who have not gone into the half-time break leading yet this season.

- They have only been ahead in three of their last 56 Premier League matches at half-time.
