Harry Kane out until early March

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been ruled out of action until early March with ankle ligament damage.

Kane is the Premier League's joint top scorer, with 14 goals this campaign (image via Sky Sports).

Kane injured himself towards the end of Tottenham's 1-0 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday and limped off the pitch at Wembley.

Heung-Min Son has now set off for international duty with South Korea as they compete at the Asian Cup, leaving Spurs with very limited attacking options.

Tottenham's medical team will continue to monitor the England captain, but early signs are revealing Kane isn't set to be back to action until March.

This means Kane will miss the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Chelsea on January 24, with the striker likely to miss both legs of Spurs' Champions League last-16 game against Borussia Dortmund.

Fernando Llorente is now Mauricio Pochettino's only recognised striker, with Vincent Jansen being declared as not in the Argentinian's plans.
