Cardiff City have agreed a deal with French side Nantes for striker Emiliano Sala, for around £18m.
Sky Sports News are reporting that it seems Cardiff have finally clinched their main target this window.
However, the deal could be held up for the Bluebirds, with Nantes wanting the forward to play one more match for them on Sunday.
The fee is believed to be £18m for the striker - who pulled out of the Nantes squad for their game on Wednesday night against Nimes - in order to get the transfer done quicker.
If the deal does in-fact go through; then this will smash Cardiff's record-signing, with the Bluebirds desperate to add more goals to their attack.
Initially, Neil Warnock is hopeful the Sala deal will be completed in time for the Newcastle United clash on Saturday - but at this stage, it's looking very unlikely he'll be ready for that.
Sala has scored 12 goals in 18 appearances in Ligue 1 so far this season, with his Nantes side sitting in mid-table in the French top-flight.
Callum Paterson is Cardiff's leading goalscorer currently - with four goals scored so far this term.
