Liverpool's victory against Crystal Palace on Saturday means that the Reds are seven points in front of the champions going into the clash.
City have been in sensational form recently - beating Wolves 3-0 on Monday night after two comprehensive victories in the two cups.
Huddersfield parted company with David Wagner earlier in the week, following the side's woeful form and they have confirmed they'll be announcing their new manager after the City match.
Team News
Huddersfield captain Tommy Smith could make a return from a hamstring injury, after not being used despite being on the bench away at Cardiff last weekend.
Man City skipper Vincent Kompany is a doubt for the champions, with a muscle problem.
Apart from that, Pep Guardiola has no other injury concerns to worry about.
The Managers
Huddersfield Town caretaker boss Mark Hudson: "It's been an emotional start to the week - there were a few goodbyes but since then there's been a real focus on the training field ahead of Sunday.
"We fully respect what David Wagner has done for Huddersfield Town, and he's done a lot for me too, as both a player and a coach.
"A Mark Hudson side will be full of intent and fight. Togetherness is something I really believe in."
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola: "Forget the table, the schedule - focus on Huddersfield. It will be freezing and has always been complicated against them.
"Focus on what we have to do or else that is the first step to losing some points."
