Sadio Mane hails "biggest win" of the season

Sadio Mane believes Saturday afternoon's 4-3 victory over Crystal Palace was Liverpool's "biggest win" of the season so far.

The Reds came back from a goal down to fight back against an impressive Palace side at Anfield and extend their deficit over Manchester City in the title race.

However, the champions have since narrowed that advantage back to four points, after a victory on Sunday.

Mane, who scored Liverpool's fourth, and what turned out to be the decisive goal, against the Eagles, believes it was the Reds' most significant win of the season so far.

"100 per cent (it's our biggest win of the season)," the Liverpool winger said. "For sure, it was not our best performance but the most important thing for us was the three points. We got them and everybody is happy.

"They played very well in the first-half. They scored goals, they were very compact and it was difficult for us to pass between the lines.

"In the second-half, we tried to push with the fans behind us and we scored two quick goals.

"At 3-2 (up) it became more difficult and then we scored a fourth goal. It was still a very tough game but (we got) three points."

Mane's goal put the Premier League leaders two goals in front for the first time in the match, and the Senegal forward revealed it relaxed the team.

"It was a good goal at a good time," Mane said. "We were a little bit (more) relaxed after so much pressure.

"After 3-2 and 4-2, them coming again was tough but we did quite well and finally won - that's the most important thing."
