Olivier Giroud not worried by Gonzalo Higuain competition at Chelsea

Olivier Giroud has insisted he isn't concerned about Gonzalo Higuain's transfer to Chelsea, with the striker claiming competition is good for the team.

Higuain was announced as a Chelsea player on Wednesday evening, and was introduced to the Stamford Bridge crowd in their Carabao Cup victory over Tottenham.

Alvaro Morata hasn't been on the best of form this season, it's safe to say, and likewise Giroud - hence Maurizio Sarri's eagerness to sign the Argentina striker.

But Giroud is relishing the healthy competition now at the Blues.

"I think it's good for the club to have different top strikers," Giroud said to ESPN.

"It's a benefit for the team and competition is always good for strikers, so we will try to step up together to help the team reach our target."
