Southampton are eyeing up a swoop for Rangers captain James Tavernier, following Cedric Soares' move away from St. Mary's.

Cedric completed his move to Inter Milan on loan for the rest of the season on Saturday, leaving the Saints rather limited with their full-back options.
According to the Express, Southampton have enquired about the availability of the Rangers captain, but perhaps face a run against the clock, with the deadline for any transfers being next week.
The same report indicates that the Scottish club are looking for around £8m to even tempt them to sell Tavernier.
Tavernier signed a new contract at Ibrox earlier this season, with the deal expiring in 2022.
Steven Gerrard will not want to lose his skipper, as he looks to build Rangers into a side capable of winning the Scottish Premier League.
