Idrissa Gueye asks to leave Everton

Everton midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye asked to leave Goodison Park, amid Paris Saint-Germain speculation.

PSG offered Everton £21.5m for their midfielder on Sunday and it seems they may have now made a breakthrough for their man.

Gueye has written to Everton officials asking for their permission to leave the club, but has not handed in an official transfer request just yet.

Everton are expected to reject PSG's offer of £21.5m for Gueye, but as of now, they are yet to respond.

However, with only four days left of the January transfer window - it looks as if the French champions will offer even more for the midfielder, to test Everton's resolve.

Gueye has been at Everton since arriving from Aston Villa two-and-a-half years ago for £7.6m.
