Man City 3-1 Arsenal

Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick as Manchester City moved to within two points of leaders Liverpool.

Aguero's goals cancelled out Laurent Koscielny's equaliser in the first-half for Arsenal.

Denis Suarez was a second-half substitute for Arsenal - but he couldn't contribute too much with his side already down by two goals on his debut.

Liverpool travel to West Ham United on Monday night, as they look to once again extend their advantage over last season's champions.

Just like they did on Tuesday night against Newcastle United, City took a very early lead - through the same man. Aguero headed in after a Raheem Sterling delivery. 48 seconds.

City were dominant early on, and Arsenal were static. But, remarkably, the Gunners found an equaliser on 11 minutes.

Nacho Monreal's flick on at the near post found his defensive partner Koscielny who headed past Ederson.

Arsenal were revitalised and looked a real threat to City's title hopes. Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looked very dangerous.

But right on the stroke of half-time; Ilkay Gundogan's tasty chip found Sterling, who again set up Aguero, who again tapped in. It was a tad harsh on Arsenal, who showed some real glimpses in the first-half.

In the second-half, though, it was a different story. Something wasn't clicking the way it was in the opening 45 minutes for Unai Emery's men.

Just over an hour into the game, a similar pattern was emerging. Sterling AGAIN set up Aguero, who AGAIN tapped in. 3-1, game pretty much done and dusted.

However, replays showed that Aguero did handle the ball with his last touch before it eventually rolling in. Arsenal players were furious and they had every right to be.

Aguero was taken off late on, replaced by Gabriel Jesus, maybe with Wednesday night's match in mind.

Emery's torrid record against Pep Guardiola sides continues - City march on. Over to you, Liverpool.

The Managers

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola: "I understand the pressure, pressure to win the games. After the game in Newcastle, Liverpool were seven points ahead and now they are two.

"Of course they have to play, they have quality, but West Ham (who play Liverpool later today) are a good side.

"Now we have tomorrow to start again and think about Everton and after Chelsea. It is a tough week for us and we go game by game."

Arsenal boss Unai Emery: "We are going to go game by game and thinking 'win the next match' and maybe if we win we can take the opportunity in the near future to be near the other teams and play with this motivation.

"The difference between City and us is like this result. We need to do our work. Not a big frustration at the moment, the result is the difference.

"They showed their superiority in 90 minutes. They held their level in 90 minutes and our level in the second-half was worse than the first."
