Tottenham 3-1 Leicester

Tottenham have kept the pressure on the top two after grinding out a win at home to Leicester City in the Premier League.

A first-half header from Davinson Sanchez put Spurs ahead, before Christian Eriksen doubled their lead.

Jamie Vardy pulled one back for the Foxes, after missing a penalty earlier in the game.

Son Heung-Min scored in stoppage-time to wrap up the victory for Mauricio Pochettino's side.

The game started off with a host of early chances for the visitors at Wembley.

Harry Maguire, who scored at Liverpool recently, had the game's first chance but he couldn't beat Hugo Lloris, who had a fine game for Spurs.

Harvey Barnes then had a chance straight after but he dragged his shot wide of the left post.

Rachid Ghezzal came close for Leicester, but his shot just whistled wide and Barnes again missed a good chance not long after.

The missed chances for Leicester came back to haunt them as Sanchez headed in from Eriksen's cross.

The goal was Sanchez's first goal for Tottenham in the Premier League.

On the hour-mark, Jan Vertonghen was penalised for a foul on James Maddison and the Foxes were awarded a penalty.

Vardy, who just came on for Claude Puel's team, took it but Lloris gambled and saved the spot-kick.

A rapid response from Spurs saw them double their lead when Eriksen's shot from the edge of the box beat Kasper Schmeichel.

Vardy did get a goal back for the visitors 13 minutes after, simply tapping the ball in.

However, despite some late pressure from the Foxes, Spurs sealed the win in added-on time. Son finished after a quick counter-attack from Tottenham.

It was Son's 11th goal in his last 13 appearances for the North London side.

The Managers

Mauricio Pochettino: "I feel very proud. I think it was a fantastic result. It was a tough game and Leicester played so well.

"You always have to fight to the end for big things. We were a little bit lucky today and we deserved it because we fought. More times I need to congratulate my players because today I thought they were fantastic."

Claude Puel: "It's disappointing and again we are left with not a good feeling. We should've had the game between our hands with a lot of chances.

"We created a lot of good moves with lots of good intentions and we didn't find good finishing. We had all the opportunities to win this game but we couldn't finish.

"It leaves me with mixed feelings as we showed good quality but I'm very aggrieved with all these chances we had."
