ARSENAL VS LIVERPOOL: COMBINED XI

The game of the weekend comes at the Emirates Stadium, where Arsenal entertain Liverpool on Saturday evening.

The Gunners had their winning-streak stopped at Selhurst Park last Sunday; drawing 2-2 with Crystal Palace.

Liverpool will be looking to keep the pressure on champions Manchester City as they face one of their toughest tests yet.

Here's our combined XI...

GK: Alisson Becker (Liverpool)

Alisson signed for Liverpool earlier in the summer and has impressed since his arrival at Anfield. His ability to play Jurgen Klopp's style is one of the more noticeable attributes that the Brazil goalkeeper brings to the Reds.

Bernd Leno has impressed for the Gunners since his arrival in the summer, too, but Alisson has certainly caught the eye of many.

RCB: Joe Gomez (Liverpool)

Gomez has spent most of his Liverpool career used as either a right-back or a left-back, but Klopp has put his faith in the defender this season and played him alongside Virgil van Dijk.

The 21-year-old's impressive form earned him his first England call-up and the defender has impressed for his national side, as well.

CB: Sokratis (Arsenal)

Sokratis was brought in to North London by Unai Emery over the summer, signing the centre-back from Borussia Dortmund.

Since then, the Greece international has impressed at the Emirates, for his ability on the ball; as well as his old-school defending styles.

LCB: Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)

The Netherlands captain has been a revelation since joining from Southampton for £75m in January.

Many believe van Dijk is the best centre-back in the Premier League; with his all-round game very strong.

Perhaps the easiest decision of the team.

CM: Lucas Torreira (Arsenal)

Torreira was brought in from Sampdoria in the summer and has been an ever-present figure in Emery's side since.

The midfielder is the sort of player (style-wise) that Arsenal have been missing in their midfield for seasons.

I can only see the Uruguay midfielder getting stronger in this Arsenal side, as the Gunners look like they're ever-improving too.

CM: Georginio Wijnaldum (Liverpool)

Wijnaldum has been fantastic for Liverpool so far this season; in my opinion, their strongest midfielder.

The Dutchman's speed, tackling and strength make him an intriguing player to watch and if he could only add more goals to his game - he could go to the next level.

CAM: Mesut Ozil (Arsenal)

There is absolutely no doubting Ozil's class and talent. However, he can be very 'hit and miss' - dividing opinion from the Premier League fanbase.

But his performance against Leicester City a couple of weeks ago, sums up the type of player Arsenal do have at their disposal.

His ability to break any Premier League defence with a through ball, is something 99% of teams don't have.

RM: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

Salah has definitely not started this season in the same emphatic way as he started and ended his debut season for Liverpool.

But the current PFA Player of the Year looks as if he's starting to rekindle some of last season's form, with four goals in his last three games for the Reds.

Salah's a no-brainer to slot in at the right-midfield spot.

LM: Sadio Mane (Liverpool)

Absolutely deadly on his day. I feel as if Mane's contribution to the Liverpool front three sometimes goes under the radar; which I'm sure he's not bothered about.

Mane often uses his frightening change of pace and not one defender deals with it, ever.

The winger has six goals for Liverpool already this season.

ST: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal)

Aubameyang has started off this season sensationally for the Gunners - with seven goals in his opening games for Arsenal; putting him joint-top with Eden Hazard at the top of the Premier League scoring table.

The Gabon striker has terrifying pace, but the most impressive attribute to his game is his positioning. He's a poacher.

ST: Roberto Firmino (Liverpool)

Firmino has been the most consistent performer since Klopp's arrival back in 2016 and the Brazilian's importance to the Liverpool side is massive.

His all-round game is excellent - with his energy proving a constant menace for defences. He scores a fair amount for the Reds, but sometimes he could be a bit deadlier in front of goal.

It was very, very close between him and Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette (who has started the season the better of the two); but Firmino's all-round play means he just edges this one.
