ASHLEY YOUNG IN TALKS OVER NEW UNITED CONTRACT

Manchester United defender Ashley Young is in talks for a new one-year deal with the Red Devils, report Sky Sports.

Young has just entered the final season of his current contract at Old Trafford and United are considering offering the defender an extension, after triggering a clause in March.

The talks are still in the very early stages, though, and no deal is expected to be struck for a while yet.

Young captained United in their 3-1 defeat to rivals Manchester City on Sunday, making his 10th appearance of the season.

The former Watford and Aston Villa star is just one of numerous players whose contracts run out next summer for United.

The likes of David de Gea, Anthony Martial and Juan Mata.
