CHELSEA 2 - 0 BOURNEMOUTH: MATCH REPORT

Goals from Pedro and Eden Hazard give Chelsea another routine win.


Bournemouth did little to threaten the goal of Chelsea despite some moments of energy.

Chelsea were able to control the game from the beginning and play the way they wanted to.


Bournemouth held 27% possession and managed one shot on target.



Bournemouth start brightly and ask a few questions of Chelsea but once the blues are settled into the game, they begin to dominate.


Chelsea call for a penalty as the ball strikes the hand of Jefferson Lerma in the 12th minute but it is not given.


Chelsea completely dominate the opening of the game, playing almost entirely in Bournemouth’s half with a high pace.


A mistake from David Luiz gives Eddie Howe’s men a glimmer of hope but Kante defends the attack well and the shot that follows moments later from Dan Gosling is over the bar.


Callum Wilson misses a great chance for Bournemouth to score against the run of play after Diego Rico delivers a great ball into the box which Wilson hits over the bar.


Chelsea hit the post on the stroke of halftime as Marcos Alonso drills a shot from 15 yards.


Chelsea have been in control but unable to score from it, Bournemouth appear to be gathering momentum despite holding on at points in the first half.


Chelsea come out strong once again as Bournemouth defend in numbers forcing Mateo Kovacic to shoot from range.


7 minutes after coming on, substitute Pedro plays a 1-2 with Olivier Giroud before smashing the ball past Begovic in the 72nd minute, 1-0 Chelsea.


Chelsea take control of the game once more and it is only a matter of time before Eden Hazard scores Chelsea’s second in the 85th minute, securing all three points for Chelsea.


Full-time and it’s a routine win for Sarri’s Chelsea.


Big questions need to be asked of Howe’s Bournemouth as they looked like a losing side from the opening minutes.
