FLORIAN LEJEUNE COULD RETURN SOON

Florian Lejeune could surprisingly return sooner than expected. The Newcastle defender has been out of action since rupturing his cruciate ligament in pre-season training back in July.

Despite reports that the Frenchman could miss the entirety of the 2018/19 season, a recent video has been posted of Lejeune running on a treadmill as part of his recovery process. Concerns he would be out for a lengthy spell now appear to have been squashed and Newcastle fans will undoubtedly be pleased at the news.

The Frenchman's absence has been evident so far this season as Newcastle have managed only 1 clean sheet and have yet to win a single game. The Magpies also conceded 3 in an embarrassing Carabao cup exit to Nottingham Forest back in August.

Rafa Benitez's current choice of centre back partnership of Ciaran Clark and Jamaal Lascelles have looked ragged this season and many fans feel it is in need of some stability. It seems Newcastle need their solid centre back to return more than ever and this positive news has come just at the right time.
