MITROVIC RESCUES POINT AGAINST UNDERWHELMING WATFORD

A late Aleksandar Mitrovic strike earns Fulham a point against Watford at Craven Cottage in the early Premier League kick-off...

Watford got off to the perfect start early in the game when Andre Gray collected Will Hughes' pass to slot the ball into the bottom corner.

The Hornets were looking to rekindle the form that they demonstrated before the loss to Manchester United last weekend and started off excellently.

However, the hosts began to came back into the game following the early Gray goal and didn't allow Watford to build on their momentum.

Fulham had a great chance to level proceedings, as Luciano Vietto was allowed to run clear on goal but Ben Foster did well to make the chance difficult for the striker.

The result stayed the same up until half-time, with Javi Gracia the happier of the managers, but the home fans would have been encouraged by their reaction to the early goal against them.

It wasn't until late on where the home side levelled proceedings and it was through their main man, Mitrovic.

The Serbian striker latched onto the end of a Vietto cross and intelligently flicked the ball past Foster to draw the game.

The equaliser was Mitrovic's fifth goal of his debut season at the Cottage and Newcastle must be rueing their decision to let the striker go.
