Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has expressed his hope that his and Virgil van Dijk's defensive partnership can gain a reputation the same as Liverpool's front three.
Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino built themselves a brilliant reputation in their record-breaking season, last season.
Gomez has recently come back into the side since the start of the season, largely down to injuries sustained by Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip.
The Reds are yet to concede a goal this season in their opening three games and the performances of Gomez has earned him a recall to the England squad for their upcoming games.
"We have got a very strong side and our front three is very well known after all that they did last season," Gomez told Sky Sports.
"But I think at the same time it is very early, we don't want to get ahead of ourselves. Clean sheets is our job and what we want to do.
"We want to just keep them going and hopefully build a reputation like our front three did last year."
Gomez's partner, van Dijk was also full of praise for his partner, who has often been used as a full-back for Liverpool - but is primarily a centre-back.
"The whole team has a great chemistry and obviously it helps a lot when your partner is a good guy and a good friend of yours as well," van Dijk said.
"We both want to learn from each other. We still have a lot to learn but it has been a great start."
