HUDDERSFIELD VS WEST HAM: PREVIEW

ree

Huddersfield Town will be buoyed by their first win of the season on Monday as they host West Ham United at the Kirklees Stadium.

The Terriers held out to win 1-0 against Fulham last week, thanks to an unfortunate own-goal by Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

West Ham were also victorious last time out, beating Burnley in a six-goal thriller 4-2, with Felipe Anderson the star of the show.

TEAM NEWS:

Huddersfield full-back Erik Durm is set to make a return to the side after missing the Fulham win with an injury.

West Ham captain Mark Noble will be serving the last match of his three-game ban following a red card.

Pedro Obiang should be available for the Hammers despite being taken off in their win against Burnley with a minor knee injury.

Andy Carroll and Jack Wilshere are still unavailable for the visitors, but the duo could make a return after the international break.

THE MANAGERS:

Huddersfield manager David Wagner has demanded his team show the same intensity and aggression they showed against Fulham.

"We have to show the same intensity and positive aggression we have shown already," Wagner said.

"We have a chance in front of our home crowd and we need our supporters to be on it from the first minute, especially when we know how difficult of a task this is.

"It's important to score but it's also important to defend together."

Manuel Pellegrini had a lot to say on his young midfielder Declan Rice and the progress he has made in the West Ham first team this season.

"I think that Declan has a lot of potential to arrive at that level that he wants," Pellegrini said.

"After that, you must see the development of his career, he is learning very fast, I think that he improves his performance in every game, so I hope he will be a top player for some years more.

"He must continue learning because his position in the team is a very tactical one, he is a very intelligent player, but yes, he has a lot of potential."
