Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez insists he does not regret selling Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic to Premier League rivals, Fulham...
Mitrovic has had a fantastic start to the season for newly-promoted Fulham and his national team Serbia, scoring six in four games.
Newcastle, however, only have four goals all of this season and a need for a strong striker is evident.
When Mitrovic was sold to the Cottagers for £22.5m this summer, some of the fans were furious with the decision, but Benitez insisted that he does not regret his decision.
"He is doing well," Benitez admitted to the Guardian. "He did well for Serbia, but Rondon was doing well for Venezuela.
"Each player has his own environment and they can do well in one team and maybe not as well in the other one.
"We have to make a decision in terms of what we needed and we knew what we needed, that's it, now we have to move forward.
"It doesn't change my decision. I have to carry on with Ayoze Perez, Joselu, Yoshinori Mutuo and Rondon, that's it."
