IANNI CHARGED, MOURINHO AVOIDS ACTION

Chelsea coach Marco Ianni has been charged by the FA following his altercation with Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho on Saturday.

The charge comes after an incident involving the pair, triggered by Chelsea's 96th minute equaliser against United at Stamford Bridge.

Ianni celebrated in front of Mourinho following Ross Barkley's goal, with the FA deeming his celebrations too excessive.

Mourinho has avoided any further action, though, with the United boss reacting angrily to the coach's celebrations.

The United manager has revealed Ianni has apologised to him in person and the Portuguese boss is happy to let the matter rest.

"I don't think he deserves more than what he got," Mourinho insisted. "He apologised to me, I accept his apologies.

"I think he deserves a second chance. I don't think he deserves to be sacked. I don't think he deserves anything more than the fact his club was strong with him."
