Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic pays tribute to Clint Dempsey's career following his decision to retire less than 24 hours ago.
Dempsey was a fan favourite at Craven Cottage with the American forward scoring 50 goals in 189 appearances in all competitions for the Cottagers.
"He really is one of the most important Fulham Premier League players," Jokanovic said during his press conference previewing the Brighton game.
"He is Fulham's top scorer in the Premier League, too. He brought many important afternoons to Craven Cottage.
"I remember his goal, this chip against Juventus. It is great memories for all the Fulham supporters when we are talking about this name. I wish him all the best in life.
"After the football career starts the longest part of life, and I wish him all the best. I expect he is going to be successful in life, like he was in his football career, too."
Fulham travel to the South Coast on Saturday as they face Brighton and Hove Albion, in what could prove to be a very important game at the bottom of the table (kick-off: 15:00).
