Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given the all-clear to defender Virgil van Dijk to play against his former team Southampton on Friday night.
Van Dijk picked up a slight knock in Liverpool's late victory against Tottenham on Sunday, but Klopp has confirmed the star defender will be okay to face his former team.
Liverpool travel to St. Mary's on Friday night, with their title ambitions still very much in-tact, and having van Dijk available will come as a massive boost for Klopp and his team.
The Liverpool boss spoke to the media ahead of Friday's trip down to the Saints:
"Virgil has trained normally. It all looks okay."
"I can't say a bad word about him, he's a brilliant boy. But he knows that you need the boys around you. Defending is team work."
Manchester City return to action this evening (Wednesday) as they welcome Cardiff City to the Etihad Stadium, with a huge chance to go above the Reds once again in the league standings.
