West Ham would have been wanting to build on their recent form, that's seen them climb up the table after a woeful start to the season.

However, it was Spurs who had a fabulous opportunity to open the scoring on the counter-attack; with Harry Kane the man with the shot but a fantastic block from Issa Diop denied the visitors.

There was a worry for West Ham, when Andriy Yarmolenko went down after what appeared to be nothing, but the Ukrainian winger was holding his achilles.

Yarmolenko was forced off with the injury, and he was replaced by Grady Diangana.

The visitors did take the lead just before half-time, when Moussa Sissoko's brilliant cross was met by the glancing head of Erik Lamela.

West Ham started the second-half excellently, with Aaron Cresswell crossing a delightful ball to Marko Arnautovic, whose header was brilliantly saved by Hugo Lloris.

Lloris was at it again! Another great save from the France 'keeper, who again denied Arnautovic to keep Spurs in the lead.

Some immense pressure from the Hammers in stoppage-time nearly saw them get level... but it's Spurs who hang on! They move back into the top four, above Liverpool, for the time-being.
