An own goal and a Mesut Ozil goal in the last ten minutes of the game was enough for the hosts.

Arsenal were looking to continue their excellent form of late, with a Watford side who would be looking to get back to winning ways at the Emirates.

The game started off pretty evenly, with the first big chance of the game falling to Lacazette of Arsenal.

The French forward, who has been in the goals recently, robbed Craig Cathcart of possession, but his dink went just wide of Ben Foster's goal.

Arsenal 'keeper Petr Cech was forced off through injury just before the half-time whistle and Bernd Leno was his replacement.

A lot of Arsenal fans have been wanting Unai Emery to give the German goalkeeper a chance instead of Cech, so now was his chance to impress the Gunners' faithful.

The deadlock was broken with only seven minutes of normal time remaining, when Alex Iwobi's dangerous low cross was turned into his own net by Cathcart.

Soon after, it was two - Ozil met Lacazette's cross to put the game beyond the visiting Hornets!

That was the way it finished; Arsenal move above Watford in the league as they move to fifth and the Hornets drop a place below.
