LATE RASHFORD GOAL ENSURES UNITED COMEBACK

A stoppage-time winner from Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford ensured the visitors a 2-1 win over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Callum Wilson's opener for the Cherries was eventually cancelled out by goals from Anthony Martial and a last gasp winner from Rashford.

Jose Mourinho admitted that his side could have been done and buried in the first-half if Bournemouth were a tad more clinical in front of goal.

Bournemouth started the game excellently and took the lead early on when Wilson stabbed home for his sixth goal of the season.

Wilson is a man in-form recently, but luckily for United; so is Martial - who tapped home for his fifth goal in as many games to level the match.

In the second-half, United were the stronger side and Bournemouth had to defend resolutely and that they did.

Two excellent blocks from Nathan Ake and David Brooks typified the Cherries' performance and they looked as if they were going to hold on for a point.

However, Paul Pogba's cross saw Rashford scramble the ball in deep into stoppage-time to give the Red Devils their third Premier League win in a row.

STATS:

- Rashford has now scored two 90th-minute goals for United, with no player scoring more last-ditch goals for the club (level with Robin van Persie and Paul Scholes).

- No team in the Premier League have come from behind to win more points than United (seven, level with Leicester and Arsenal).

- For United, Mourinho is unbeaten against any English manager (W:17, D:4).

THE MANAGERS:

Mourinho admitted that his side could have lost the game in the first-half and thought they were perhaps lucky to win the match.

"It was a first-half that could, should be, game over, 5-2, 6-2 easily, and in the second-half until we scored, I had the feeling we were a very unlucky team because we should score three, four, five goals. We were really poor, defensively awful," Mourinho said.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe revealed that his side discussed at half-time that they should have been winning and by more than one.

"It was a tough one for us," Howe admitted. "A lot of aspects of our play were very good, especially in that opening period.

"The discussion at half-time was of course that we weren't winning, but deserved to be winning by more than one. They made some good substitutions and the game was different."
