LIVERPOOL PREVIEW: CHELSEA (A)

Liverpool travel to Chelsea for the Saturday teatime kick-off, looking to wash the thoughts of Wednesday night's loss to the Blues out of their minds.

Despite Daniel Sturridge putting Liverpool in front against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, a moment of magic from Eden Hazard completed Chelsea's comeback as they won 2-1 at Anfield.

This time, it's the Premier League, and Liverpool top that. Six wins in as many games, and the Reds are loving life in this competition.

TEAM NEWS:

Virgil van Dijk is a huge doubt for the Reds, with the defender going off injured, hurting his rib in last weekend's 3-0 win against Southampton.

The Dutch central defender took no part in Liverpool's loss to Chelsea in midweek and has not trained with the team this week.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Georginio Wijnaldum have recovered from their knock and illness, respectively.

Jurgen Klopp should bring back Liverpool's full-strength side for the Premier League clash, after making eight changes on Wednesday night.

KLOPP'S COMMENTS:

Klopp insisted that he is not thinking about the possibility of opening up a five-point gap on Chelsea with a win at Stamford Bridge.

"I don't think in these categories because it is difficult enough to try and win the game, or even get a point at Chelsea," the Liverpool boss said in Friday's pre-match press conference.

"So I don't think about a five-point gap - and a five-point gap 31 matchdays before the end (of the season) is nothing. We play them again, so it's absolutely nothing."

The German claims that Wednesday's late and heartbreaking defeat to the Blues provides them with the motivation to get revenge against Chelsea on Saturday.

"For sure, but to be 100 per cent honest it is not that I come in on Thursday morning and speak immediately in which way we strike back and things like this," Klopp continued.

"Obviously we want to strike back, that's sport. You lose once, it can happen, if you play them again and you try to correct the case and that's what we have to try, of course."

BETTING ODDS/PREDICTION:

The bookmakers (Bet 365) have this as an extremely tight affair, which I think is fair considering both teams' strong starts to the season.

It's the away side, though, who go into the game as narrow favourites with Bet 365 offering you 31/20 for Klopp's men to achieve maximum points.

This will be a very close game and there's definitely going to be goals! I'm predicting a 2-2 draw with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah to get on the scoresheet.
