Mainz want to re-sign Karius

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius is the subject of interest from his former team and Bundesliga side Mainz in the summer.

The German goalkeeper failed to make an impact and Anfield and too many individual mistakes meant he was loaned out to Besiktas this season.

However, his performances in Turkey haven't been up to scratch and his future at Besiktas is now in major doubt.

Karius joined Besiktas on a two-year loan deal last summer but is keen for a return to Liverpool after falling out with the club's manager.

His former team Mainz are now interested in bringing the German back to his home country, according to a report from Sport Witness.

The move to Germany would depend on whether or not Besiktas choose to terminate his contract at the club, with Jurgen Klopp signing Alisson in the summer and the Brazil shot-stopper impressing in his debut season with the club.
