Manchetser United play Watford on Saturday, as Jose Mourinho faces his former player from Porto Nuno Espirito Santo...
The Red Devils have started to gain some momentum after a slow start this season and come into this one on the back of a comfortable 3-0 win over Swiss Champions Young Boys in the Champions League.
Wolves will be quietly confident though after some impressive victories over Burnley and West Ham along with a well-earned 1-1 draw with Manchester City.
United sit just one point ahead of Wolves in the Premier League table so this really is a crucial game for both, early on the season.
TEAM NEWS:
Manchester United will be without Marcus Rashford and Nemanja Matic with both players being suspended.
Ander Herrera and Marcos Rojo will also miss out due to a lack of fitness but Phil Jones may return after recovering from a hamstring injury.
After being rested on Wednesday, Jessie Lingard and captain Antonio Valencia could come back into the squad.
New boy Diogo Dalot was very impressive on his first start in Bern, but Mourinho confirmed he would not start on Saturday.
Wolves on the other hand have no injuries or suspensions which means they travel to Old Trafford with a strong squad.
MOURINHO'S COMMENTS:
Mourinho was asked what he thought about his agent Jorge Mendes's involvement with Wolves and what he thought about Wolves' youthful squad. He said:
"I think the work in Wolves is good because it's not just about the Portuguese influence- Portuguese manager, staff and players - it is also about getting the right ones and I think they have got good young players and they have also got good, experienced, stable players," Mourinho said in his pre-match press conference.
"So, they got this season, the Portuguese national team goalkeeper [Rui Patricio], they got [Joao] Moutinho, who is one of the players of the 100 caps club.
"The young ones are young boys with good potentials and you can see the work of the coaching staff - and the team is a really, really good team."
The Manchester United manager was also questioned on United's recent defensive improvement and claimed his team is now "compact and solid".
"The team is resolving the defensive problems better than before," Mourinho added. "I am not saying it was Bailly and Jones and is now Smalling and Lindelof. Communication has improved. Good results bring confidence."
STATS:
The last time Wolves won at Old Trafford was on February 9th 1980 in a Division one game.
United have won their last eight cup and league games at home to Wolves.
ODDS/PREDICTION:
The bookies have made United favourites at 8/15, whilst a Wolves victory is 11/2. The odds of a stalemate are 14/5.
Despite Wolves impressive start to the season, I don't think they have the quality to break down a very solid-looking Manchester United side at Old Trafford. I'm going with a 2-0 win to United.
