MILIVOJEVIC PENALTY BRACE ENDS GUNNERS WINNING STREAK

Two Luka Milivojevic penalties earned Crystal Palace a 2-2 draw against Arsenal to end the Gunners' winning streak.

Arsenal's 10-match winning run has come to an end after conceding a late goal at Selhurst Park.

A Milivojevic penalty on the brink of half-time put Palace in the lead before Granit Xhaka's unstoppable free-kick levelled proceedings.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang needed goal-line technology to confirm he'd put the Gunners ahead in London, and a late Milivojevic penalty levelled the game.

Crystal Palace were the brighter side in the first-half, with some clear-cut chances against the Gunners.

Wilfried Zaha's effort rebounded wide off the post early on, before Andros Townsend missed a sitter after a fabulous Palace move involving Zaha and van Aanholt.

Cheikhou Kouyate was fouled in the penalty area by Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi and referee Martin Atkinson pointed to the spot.

Milivojevic, who missed from the spot in last weekend's defeat to Everton, responded excellently with an unstoppable penalty into the bottom left.

It was nothing less than what Palace deserved at Selhurst Park; with Roy Hodgson's men looking aggressive and decisive on the attack.

Arsenal made a change at half-time when Hector Bellerin suffered an injury and was replaced by Stephan Lichsteiner.

The game was level early in the second-half when Xhaka arrowed a free-kick from a tight angle into the top left; a fantastic goal from the Swiss international.

And Arsenal, who coming to the game had scored 16 in the second-half, compared to just four in the first-half (in their 10-match win streak) were ahead a few minutes later.

Aubameyang reacted sharply at the far post to put the Gunners ahead in South London, with goal-line technology confirming the ball crossed the line by literal millimetres.

However, Palace fought back and Zaha was fouled in the box by Xhaka - with replays showing he went down rather easily - and Milivojevic stepped up and converted for his second of the game.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson felt his side were massively unlucky to have a decision go against them, with Alexandre Lacazette clearly handling the ball in the run-up to Aubameyang's goal.

"I'm not even happy to end up with one point especially when you see how clear the handball was," Hodgson said. "It was tough to concede an equaliser after working so hard for the 1-0 lead.

"I thought the attitude of the players and the way we got in control of the game again after going behind, it was a very deserved equaliser. I'm very happy with the performance; I'm just a bit sad it didn't give us the three points."

Arsenal boss Unai Emery admitted his disappointment that his team conceded two penalties and one so late on in the game.

"I am disappointed with the result but our work is good," Emery said. "We drew, it's not bad, it's better to win but looking at the game in 90 minutes it is a deserved result.

"Two penalties against us in the box is a difficult action for the defence. Xhaka is playing left-back, he is better in the middle. I will say to him nothing (about giving away the penalty)."
