Manchester United harvested a well-deserved 2-0 victory against Burnley at Turf Moor this Sunday afternoon. However, climbing to the 10th spot included an act of rashness from young Marcus upon former United defender Phil Bardsley as the forward saw a straight red just under ten minutes.
A match-up that demonstrated the good, the bad and the ugly within a game of Football - as Belgian international found the net in the 27th minute and provided the early insurance goal to double United's lead before half-time.
Followed by amiss from the penalty spot by Paul Pogba as Joe Hart made an easy save to keep the Frenchman off the score-sheet.
Not long after it was Rashford who succumbed to the gamesmanship of Phil Bardsley and delve into a physical altercation, where the referee Jonathan Moss deemed the 20-year-old responsible of violent misconduct and sanctioned an early exit to the Manchester United player.
Despite being one man down the Red Devils' managed to rampart their lead and see through their first away win of the new season.
Boss, Jose Mourinho, was unafraid to give his verdict on the incident, as he druthers another post-match press conference:
"I don’t know what happened. I would say it was naive," Mourinho stated after the game.
"It was a kid and a very experienced man. Bardsley’s been in the game for 20 years and Marcus is a naive boy."
Mourinho would prefer not to reminisce about the loss of Rashford as they will look to prepare themselves against a reigning Watford side who refuse to be beaten.
