Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho claims he is not surprised with United's worst start to the season for 26 years.
United's season started with a marginal win versus Leicester, but since then, two consecutive defeats against Brighton and Spurs, have put Mourinho under lots of pressure.
Mourinho has been openly critical of United's board for not signing the transfer targets that he wished for in the summer.
"I said in the summer before the competition started," Mourinho told The Guardian when asked if he thought this season would be difficult.
"It's not especially now. Two defeats are two defeats. We still have 35 matches to play. It's not because we lost six points that this is going to change.
"I knew this was going to be difficult because I knew that last season was going to very, very difficult."
Mourinho may give Alexis Sanchez a start in their big game against Burnley on Sunday, with the Chile international being pulled out of their next two friendlies due to Mourinho's request.
"He is not going to the friendlies which is good news for us because after that we play Watford and the Champions League," Mourinho added.
