MOUTINHO'S STRIKE MEANS UNITED DROP POINTS

Manchester United are held by Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford, as Joao Moutinho's second-half equaliser means the sides share the points...

United took the lead in the first-half when a fantastic Paul Pogba assist was turned in by his midfield partner Fred, who scored his first goal since his summer move from Shakhtar.

Wolves impressed at Old Trafford during the first 45 minutes and the home side were perhaps fortunate as David de Gea kept United in the game.

Nuno Espirito Santo would have been encouraged by the first-half display he witnessed and knew it was still there for Wanderers in the second-half.

And it was Wolves who scored the next goal; when Moutinho curled one into the top corner from the edge of the box to stun Old Trafford.

Despite some pressure from the home side, they couldn't break down the Wolves defence and the visitors held on to continue their impressive form recently.

The draw did mean however, that Wolves moved down to 10th place, with the home side moving up to sixth (above Spurs, who play later).
