NEWCASTLE PREVIEW: LEICESTER (H)

Newcastle will hoping to pull out of the relegation zone facing Claude Puel's Leicester City in another must win game for the Magpies.

The Geordies, who drew in a goalless game against Crystal Palace despite looking impressive defensively, still have much to improve on.

The combined duo of Ayoze Perez and Joselu could not break the deadlock with Newcastle desperately needing to improve their conversion rate.

Meanwhile, tomorrow's opponents in Leicester have had no trouble scoring putting 3 past Huddersfield in a 3-1 victory and even breaking Liverpool's perfect defensive record with summer signing Ghezzal being the first player to score past highly rated Alisson Becker.

BENITEZ'S COMMENTS:

Despite looking solid defensively a honest Rafa Benitez shot down praise after a goalless draw at Selhurst Park:

"I am not happy just drawing games. We have to win, and we have to win right now. We have to improve in attack - that’s obvious - but I have confidence that the next games against teams not as strong (as the top six), we will have more chances to create something. "

TEAM NEWS:

Rafa's striker woes look to continue with Salomon Rondon set to miss both the clash against Leicester City and the Magpies next match against Manchester United.

Despite missing the Venezuelan target man, the Spaniard called on Matt Ritchie, Perez and Kenedy to pitch in with more goals, yet also confirmed that summer signing Yoshinori Muto is still being brought up to scratch and will not start.

At the back the Newcastle boss did however, go on to praise Argentinian Centre-back Fernandez calling the former Swansea man "clever" and "experienced."

"Feddy was our player in Napoli, then he went to Swansea. We have followed him & last year we followed him. He is a clever player & has a good understanding. He is a good addition who has experience, he is competitive & hopefully he can be great for us."

BETTING ODDS/PREDICTION:

At current, Bet365 have placed the visitors as odds on favourites with 2/1 odds.

Rafa Benitez will need to use all of his managerial know how to stop the attacking prowess of Leicester City wreaking havoc on the Newcastle back line.

Whilst the game will be dominated by the Foxes Newcastle certainly won't sit back and stay deep as we have seen Rafa ask of his players against Chelsea.
