The Magpies are currently in 17th place; out of the relegation zone based on having a better goal difference than Huddersfield, so they will be looking for all three points in this encounter to move them away from the drop.

Bournemouth will be looking to bounce back after losing 2-1 to Manchester United, despite a strong performance from the Cherries.

Eddie Howe's side are currently in sixth place with 20 points, ahead of seventh placed Manchester United on goal difference.

TEAM NEWS:

Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez confirmed in his press conference earlier today that Yoshinori Muto, Jonjo Shelvey and Jamaal Lascelles are likely to miss Saturday’s game.

Bournemouth player Joshua King is likely to miss the game as he is still suffering from an ankle injury.

THE MANAGERS:

Benitez has expressed his desire for Newcastle to build on last weekend's win over Watford.

“After an important win everyone is a bit happier, and hopefully we can carry on with this feeling," Benitez said.

"The contribution of the three players coming from the bench... was key to us getting the three points.

“You can feel the difference on the training pitch and in the city... the confidence is higher, but it is just one step forward.

“Bournemouth are in a very good position in the table - they are playing well, and playing with confidence.”

Bournemouth boss Howe has called on his side to show the same mentality in Saturday's game as they did last season, where they won 1-0.

"The mentality going to Newcastle this year has to be the same as last," Howe explained. "The circumstances of the game are different, but the mentality has to be the same.

"It's difficult to win in the Premier League. Every game is so different, Newcastle will be on a high going into this one, so it'll be tough.

"I think both results against Newcastle last year, in different ways, helped us and we learned a lot from them."
