PREMIER LEAGUE PREDICTIONS: GAMEWEEK 6

Andrew Corns is back for another one of his weekly predictions, with some big games at the top and bottom of the league, who will Corns back this weekend?

Fulham v. Watford

Fulham come in from being battered by Manchester City and Watford look to rebound after their first loss of the season against Manchester United. I expect a better performance from Fulham than they showed last week as Watford slowly start coming down after their flying start the first month of the season. This’ll be an entertaining fixture that ends even.

Prediction: 2-2 Draw

Burnley v. Bournemouth

With each passing week, Burnley get further and further from the side we saw last season. Bournemouth are absolutely flying so far and are primed for a run towards seventh or eighth in the table. Turf Moor hasn’t proved as intimidating a ground as it has in the past and Eddie Howe’s men will bring their best in gathering all three points.

Prediction: 2-0 Bournemouth

Crystal Palace v. Newcastle United

Newcastle look utterly lost already and it’s looking more and more likely that Rafa Benitez will depart the club before January. Palace have built upon last season’s strong finish and should comfortably slot into the mid-table. They’ll grind out the game and grab a goal to see it out for a win.

Prediction: 1-0 Crystal Palace

Liverpool v. Southampton

Will this be the bogey game for Liverpool after their emotionally charged victory over PSG on Tuesday? They’ve got a murderous schedule coming up and may be caught looking past this match. They’ll be wise not to as Southampton will have added motivation after operating as a feeder club for the Reds over the past few years. Klopp’s men will be well drilled and have too much talent on display to get tripped up.

Prediction: 3-0 Liverpool

Cardiff City v. Manchester City

Hell hath no fury like a Manchester City side scorned. Losing at home to Lyon in the Champions League will not sit well with Pep and I anticipate they come out with a fiery determination from the first minute. Cardiff looked okay early against Chelsea last week before coming undone and City will likely find it easier to break them down. City go up early and have the game put to bed well before halftime.

Prediction: 5-0 Manchester City

Leicester City v. Huddersfield

Leicester may have been defeated last week against Bournemouth, but Huddersfield won’t come in with the amount of firepower to match. This is a battle between a side already fighting for their lives in the relegation zone and another that’ll pick up plenty of points over the course of the campaign against weaker opposition.

Prediction: 2-0 Leicester City

Manchester United v. Wolverhampton

Perhaps it was a little too early to write off Jose Mourinho and his Red Devils after a somewhat sluggish start to their season. They’re starting to pick up some momentum and seem fueled by the amount of negative press they’ve had to deal with. Wolves are a side that doesn’t look new to the Premier League and have enough talent to give United trouble. These two sides match up more evenly than you might think, and I expect Wolves to sneak out of Old Trafford with a hard fought and much deserved point.

Prediction: 1-1 Draw

Brighton v. Tottenham

Spurs are desperate to get back to winning ways having now dropped three in a row over all competitions. They’re starting to show World Cup fatigue and it’ll be crucial that they stop the bleeding before too much ground gets lost in the race for a Champions League place. Brighton bring plenty of resilience and attacking threat but should find it hard to break down what’s still a formidable Tottenham defensive unit. Lucas Moura and Harry Kane will come back to life and each grab a goal to see this one out.

Prediction: 2-1 Tottenham

West Ham v. Chelsea

West Ham finally got the monkey off their back with the first win last weekend at Goodison Park. I get the feeling that if the pieces come together, this side will rattle off a good chunk of wins in a hurry battling sides towards the bottom of the table. Chelsea are looking to continue their perfect run and remain level with Liverpool at the top. They’re looking stronger than many expected, and Eden Hazard appears to be back to his best which is a frightening proposition for the league. The safe bet is taking Chelsea, but something is telling me West Ham could give them trouble and even pull out a draw here.

Prediction: 2-2 Draw

Arsenal v. Everton

I was starting to buy into Everton as a side that could potentially vie for position just below the big six clubs, but that’s cooled some after losing at home to West Ham. Richarlison can’t return soon enough to help their stuttering offense. Arsenal are taking shape more and more with each passing week under the guidance of Unai Emery and they’ll see this as a chance to keep their unbeaten run alive and continue to progress up the table as they look to slot into the top four by season’s end.

Prediction: 2-1 Arsenal
