Premier League Round-Up: 16/03/19

Not a full set of fixtures this weekend in the Premier League due to the FA Cup matches... but the drama was of course as high as ever!

West Ham 4-3 Huddersfield

Javier Hernandez came off the bench to score twice for West Ham United to complete an incredible comeback against Huddersfield Town at the London Stadium.

Hernandez scored in the 90th minute for the Hammers after scoring just before that as well to send the London Stadium into ecstasy.

Mark Noble opened the scoring for the Irons, as Manuel Lanzini was brought down in the box and the Hammers' captain converted from 12-yards.

But not long after that, Juninho Bacuna headed in from an Aaron Mooy corner to stun the home crowd.

Karlan Grant then shocked the whole of the Premier League with an excellent brace - including a brilliant second goal in the second-half to silence the East London side's fans.

But Manuel Pellegrini's side managed to reply not too long after with Angelo Ogbonna heading in from an Aaron Cresswell corner.

Then some terrific work from Noble on the right-hand side saw him win the ball back before delivering a perfectly-weighted cross for Hernandez who headed home.

Felipe Anderson then crossed for Chicharito again and his glancing header was too much for Jonas Lossl and West Ham won it at the death. Extraordinary match.

Bournemouth 2-2 Newcastle United

Matt Ritchie scored a stoppage-time leveller for Newcastle as he returned to the Vitality Stadium to haunt his former club Bournemouth.

Salomon Rondon scored a great free-kick from 30-yards out to give the Magpies a lead on the South Coast.

But the Cherries equalised into the second-half when Mike Dean pointed to the spot after Cieran Clark manhandled Nathan Ake. Joshua King buried the spot-kick.

Dominic Solanke kept the ball very well for the Cherries and he laid it off to King, who smashed home first-time with his right foot - looking like he'd won it for Bournemouth with about 10 minutes remaining.

However, former Cherry, Ritchie returned to haunt his ex-employers. DeAndre Yedlin's cross to the far post was met by the left foot of Ritchie, who volleyed a 94th minute equaliser.

Burnley 1-2 Leicester City

Wes Morgan's 90th minute winner secured a narrow victory for 10-man Leicester City at Turf Moor against struggling Burnley.

Harry Maguire was red carded for the travelling Foxes in the fourth minute for a trip on Johann Gudmundsson who was clean through on goal.

But Brendan Rodgers' side weren't to be denied as James Maddison scored a peach of a free-kick from 25-yards out to put them a goal ahead in Lancashire.

But the Clarets equalised when Charlie Taylor's low cross was converted by the impressive Dwight McNeil in the first-half.

It looked all set that the points would be shared at Burnley, but Youri Tielemans delivered a fabulous cross - and captain Morgan headed in to send the Foxes' fans into raptures.
